The Owner/Director

The owner, Janice Weatherspoon, has been a day care director for 25 years before opening this center. During that time she has attended childcare training, workshops, seminars and conferences to continually enhance her knowledge and skills.  Mrs. Weatherspoon was a founding member of the Texas Professional Home Child Care Association and served on its Board for five years.  From 1993-1994 she served as Vice President of that group. In 1993, Mrs. Weatherspoon was the Conference Chair for the “Breezing Into Professionalism; Anchoring in Strength and Growth’ Conference in Galveston, Texas which was attended by over 1000 day care owners, managers and teachers as well as vendors and speakers.

Mrs. Weatherspoon has traveled extensively throughout the State of Texas as a lecturer and facilitator of many training sessions on child care management, indoor and outdoor play, and professionalism for home-based child care.. She is an active member of the Gulf Coast, Houston and National Associations for the Education for Young Children, and attends national conferences which provide professional development on child development, nutrition, health and safety, physical fitness, educational methods, classroom management, age-appropriate curriculum, assessment, and many other pertinent topics. Janice has been a Certified Child Care Director since 2005. Mrs. Weatherspoon received her Certification in Childcare Management in 1989 and her Associate Degree in Child Development in 1990 from College of the Mainland.

Qualified and Trained Teachers

A Brighter Day QLC devotes time and resources tor training our teachers and staff. Twice a year we provide early childhood training for our teachers to remain knoweldgeable on current developments in education and chilcare.

Low Teacher to Student Ratios

Our teacher-to-student ratios allow teachers to focus on the individual learning styles and needs of each child in our center.

Our teachers and staff are passionate about forming a strong partnership with you to ensure the best possible experience for your child. Teachers provide daily communication with families and seek to understand unique desires and needs you have for your child.
